Zümrüd Mənsimova, filologiya üzrə fəlsəfə doktoru, Azərbaycan Milli Elmlər Akademiyası Rəyasət Heyətinin Elmi katibi vəzifəsində çalışır (İnstitut: Rəyasət Heyəti, Şöbə: İEB). Onun elmi fəaliyyəti Azərbaycan folklorunda əcdad kultu, mərasim ənənələri və milli-mənəvi dəyərlər kontekstində kompleks tədqiqatlara yönəlmişdir. Tədqiqatların konseptual çərçivəsi əcdad kultunun dastanlarda, nağıllarda, mərasimlərdə (Novruz, Qurban bayramı), xalq inanclarında təzahürlərini, həmçinin onun arxetiplər və transformasiya paradigmaları ilə əlaqəsini əhatə edir. Elmi iş 2018-2025-ci illəri əhatə edən ardıcıl inkişafı nümayiş etdirir, o cümlədən beynəlxalq referentli jurnallarda, konfrans materiallarında və elmi bazalarda dərc olunmuş əsərləri. Ən əhəmiyyətli əsərlər arasında “The issue OF ATTITUDE TO THE ANCESTRAL CULT IN AZERBAIJANI FOLKLORE” (2022) məqaləsi, 2 sitat almışdır və “The cult of ancestors in Azerbaijani folklore” (2024) əsəri əsas tədqiqat istiqamətlərini əks etdirir. Nəşrlər Azərbaycan, ingilis, rus və türk dillərində təqdim olunur ki, bu da beynəlxalq əhatəni göstərir. The article discusses the sayids belonging to the wise old man archetype and the belief in them among the people in the context of ancestor cult. The functions of the Sayyids as a transformative paradigm of the ancestor cult, such as healing, wisdom, foresight, guidance, and salvation, have been examined. Where appropriate, similar and different characteristics of saints are also given. The article discusses the restrictions placed on their activities during the Soviet era. Likewise, the genealogy of the sayyids was investigated where appropriate.

The manifestation of the Azerbaijani people's respect …
The manifestation of the Azerbaijani people's respect for the ancestor’s spirit and the word is investigated in the article. The meaning of the “elder” word which occupies a large place in Azerbaijani ritual folklore and customs is considered. The “elder” word’s value is discussed in Azerbaijani folklore. In order to recognize the ancestors it is considered as one of the important conditions that the young people of each generation should know the 7 back turns. Belief in word of “elder” is reflected in the traditions of the Azerbaijani people. If necessary these ideas are supported by collection examples. In addition the relationship of the elder cult with the investigated ancestor has been determined. The functions connected with the cult word have been investigated. The place and role of the ancestors’ cult are also considered in the old adages, folk wisdom, and proverbs in the article. The attitude towards the ancestors’ cult has been researched in myths, works of Ashik and generally in folklore of Azerbaijan. The attitude of our people to the ancestors’ cult has been preserved in the attitude and faith towards the paternal (ancestral) hearths which were under occupation for almost 30 years

The connection of the Water cult with …
The connection of the Water cult with the Ancestors cult within a single mythical system has been investigated in the article. Here on the basis of the specific examples the place and role of water in ceremonies, beliefs and proverbs have been involved in research. The article has also mentioned the direct participation of the elders’ cult in the beliefs connected with water in Azerbaijani folklore and in the realization of the customs related to Water Wednesday, the ancient and the first Wednesday of Novruz. The research shows that the cult of elders and the cult of water are closely related to each other at the archetypal level. There is an idea that the cult of water is an image transformation of the elders’ cult in the basis of this connection. This transformation is also the basis of its sacralization.

His love and respect for Adam, Hazrat Ali, Khidir Ilyas, and the Kirkh, who are the transformative paradigms of the ancestor cult, were studied in his poetry.

The article explores the place and role of ancestral worship in Azerbaijani folklore, as well as in world folklore traditions. Elements of the miraculous birth, the tradition of respect for the elderly, the culture of behavior, and respect for the ancestral spirit, which is one of our national moral values, the archetype of the country, are analyzed. Through different examples of epic literature, the place and role of the ancestral ties of the Azerbaijani people and the high moral and spiritual values, comparing them to other nations are analyzed. It was found that despite the passage of time, folk traditions are maintained to this day and in the Azerbaijani people, as in others, it is a fundamental part of their idiosyncrasy and identity.

There are a special place and role of ancestor cult, the belief in the virtues of the ancestor and the auxiliary images associated with it in Azerbaijani folklore, especially in fairy tales. If we pay attention to fairy tales and epics, we will see that the dervishes of the ancestral cult paradigm, the heroes of fairy tales and epics choose their path due to the direct connection of Hadrat Ali, one of the successors of the Prophet's descendants, saints and seyids. With the apple given by the saints, they achieve their goals, and with the sound of the unseen, they get out of troubles. The theory of patrons with sacred power follows the hero of both the fairy tale and the hero of the epics in an unbreakable line from beginning to end. He helps them to open the closed doors and return them from the crooked path to the straight path. Some points such as laying the foundations of human origin in the world by eating prohibited apple by Adam and Eve, as well as how the apple is described in the Elijah, what function it performs, what the difference is and so on. other points are discussed in the article. Throughout the story, we feel the ancestral breath, the ancestral spirit, which sometimes follows the hero, sometimes is visible and sometimes in invisible.

The resultative construction is identified by a resultative phrase (RP)(Goldberg & Jackendoff, 2004: 536) or result-XP (Rappaport Hovav & Levin, 2001: 766), which describes the state of the referent of an NP resulting from the action of the verb. However, the construction is characterised by variation in form. Any comprehensive analysis of the construction must take into account a number of subtypes of construction. Both intransitive and transitive verb forms can appear in the construction. Transitive resultatives can be subdivided into those with a direct object that is an argument of verb, and those in which the direct object is only grammatical in the resultative construction (Goldberg & Jackendoff, 2004: 536). A further source of variation in transitive resultatives concerns whether the subject or direct object is predicated of the result-XP (Rappaport Hovav & Levin, 2001: 770). To account for this variation Rappaport Hovav & Levin (2001) have challenged their own syntactically driven'direct object restriction'explanation of the resultative. The same motivation fuels Goldberg & Jackendoff's (2004: 563) analysis of the resultative as a'family of subconstructions'. Both approaches explore the mechanisms of causation at work in the resultative construction in relation to decompositional event structure. Rappaport Hovav & Levin (2001: 775) claim that causative resultatives are associated with a complex event structure comprising of two non-coextensive events. The functions of the Sayyids as a transformative paradigm of the ancestor cult, such as healing, wisdom, foresight, guidance, and salvation, have been examined. Where appropriate, similar and different characteristics of saints are also given. The article discusses the restrictions placed on their activities during the Soviet era. Likewise, the genealogy of the sayyids was investigated where appropriate.

The manifestation of the Azerbaijani people's respect for the ancestor’s spirit and the word is investigated in the article. The meaning of the “elder” word which occupies a large place in Azerbaijani ritual folklore and customs is considered. The “elder” word’s value is discussed in Azerbaijani folklore. In order to recognize the ancestors it is considered as one of the important conditions that the young people of each generation should know the 7 back turns. Belief in word of “elder” is reflected in the traditions of the Azerbaijani people. If necessary these ideas are supported by collection examples. In addition the relationship of the elder cult with the investigated ancestor has been determined. The functions connected with the cult word have been investigated. The place and role of the ancestors’ cult are also considered in the old adages, folk wisdom, and proverbs in the article. The attitude towards the ancestors’ cult has been researched in myths, works of Ashik and generally in folklore of Azerbaijan. The attitude of our people to the ancestors’ cult has been preserved in the attitude and faith towards the paternal (ancestral) hearths which were under occupation for almost 30 years

The connection of the Water cult with …
The connection of the Water cult with the Ancestors cult within a single mythical system has been investigated in the article. Here on the basis of the specific examples the place and role of water in ceremonies, beliefs and proverbs have been involved in research. The article has also mentioned the direct participation of the elders’ cult in the beliefs connected with water in Azerbaijani folklore and in the realization of the customs related to Water Wednesday, the ancient and the first Wednesday of Novruz. The research shows that the cult of elders and the cult of water are closely related to each other at the archetypal level. There is an idea that the cult of water is an image transformation of the elders’ cult in the basis of this connection. This transformation is also the basis of its sacralization.
