Hüseyn Abbasov Azərbaycan Milli Elmlər Akademiyasının Naxçıvan Bölməsi, Qafqaz tarixi şöbəsində kiçik elmi işçi vəzifəsində çalışır. Elmi dərəcəsi və elmi adı yoxdur. Onun elmi fəaliyyəti əsasən Naxçıvan regionunun tarixi və siyasi aspektlərinə yönəlmişdir. Tədqiqat istiqamətləri Naxçıvanın avtonomiya mübarizəsi, 20-ci əsrin əvvəllərində regional güc dinamikaları və beynəlxalq təsirləri əhatə edir. 2024-cü ildə iki elmi məqaləsi dərc olunmuşdur, onlardan 'The Determined Struggle of Nakhchivan’s Population for Freedom and Independence Before Autonomy' əsəri iki dəfə istinad edilmişdir. Bu məqalə Naxçıvan əhalisinin milli identiklik əsasında müstəqillik uğrunda mübarizəsini və Sovet dövründə avtonom statusun alınmasını tədqiq edir.
