Rahid Xəlilov Azərbaycan Milli Elmlər Akademiyasının Nizami Gəncəvi adına Ədəbiyyat İnstitutunun Müstəqillik dövrü Azərbaycan ədəbiyyatı şöbəsində baş elmi işçi vəzifəsində çalışır, fəlsəfə elmləri doktoru elmi dərəcəsinə və dosent elmi adına malikdir. Elmi fəaliyyəti əsasən estetika, qloballaşma, mədəniyyətlərarası əlaqələr və müasir ədəbiyyat nəzəriyyəsi sahələrində araşdırmalara həsr olunmuşdur. Google Scholar göstəricilərinə görə, 57 ümumi sitat, 2 h-index və 1 i10-index əldə etmişdir. Altı elmi nəşri arasında ən yüksək sitat göstəricisi 'Estetika' (2010) əsərinə aiddir, bu da 54 sitatla tədqiqatlarının beynəlxalq alıcılığını nümayiş etdirir. Nəşr dinamikası 2003-2011-ci illər arasında qeyri-bərabər paylanmışdır, ən fəal dövr 2008-2011-ci illərə təsadüf edir. Elmi fəaliyyətinin miqyası məhdud sayda nəşrlə xarakterizə olunur, lakin yüksək sitat göstəriciləri tədqiqatlarının təsir dərəcəsini və akademik cəmiyyətdə tanınmasını göstərir. Beynəlxalq görünürlüyü əsasən humanitar elmlər və fəlsəfə sahələrində qeyd olunur.
