Leyla Həsənzadə Azərbaycan Milli Elmlər Akademiyasının Nizami Gəncəvi adına Ədəbiyyat İnstitutunda, Azərbaycan-Asiya ədəbi əlaqələr şöbəsində elmi işçi vəzifəsində çalışır, elmi dərəcə və elmi adı yoxdur. Onun elmmetrik göstəriciləri Google Scholar məlumatlarına əsasən üç elmi nəşri əhatə edir, lakin bu nəşrlərə sitat göstərilməyib, h-index və i10-index sıfırdır; bu da elmi fəaliyyətin hələ erkən mərhələdə olduğunu və beynəlxalq görünürlüyün məhdudluğunu göstərir. Nəşr dinamikası üç əsas işlə məhdudlaşır, bu da tədqiqatların miqyasının kiçik, lakin Alman ədəbiyyatının Azərbaycan dilinə tərcüməsi və təhlili kimi xüsusi bir sahəyə yönəlmiş olduğunu əks etdirir. Elmi fəaliyyəti Azərbaycan-Asiya ədəbi əlaqələri kontekstində Alman ədəbiyyatının Azərbaycan dilinə tərcüməsinə və Azərbaycan emigrant ədəbiyyatına həsr olunmuşdur, bu da onun tədqiqatlarının regional əhəmiyyətini vurğulayır.

Among the examples of German prose translated into Azerbaijani, the works of the world-famous writer Hermann Karl Hesse have a special place. H. Hesse, who started writing in 1904 and gained fame as an author of stories, novels, and poems, has won many readers in different countries of the world, and his works have been the subject of various studies, as they are mostly devoted to important internal and psychological problems of people such as self-awareness, self-affirmation, and self-expression. H. Hesse's works were hardly accepted by readers and the literary community at first due to the peculiar description of human feelings, complex moral and psychological states, many problems such as the search for oneself, but soon gained fame in Europe and America. Mohammed Asadbek (1905-1942) further working under pseudonym Gurban Said, was the greatest representative of the Azerbaijan emigrant literature. After falling of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (under the insisting of relatives) he has been compelled to emigrate to Germany, then to Austria and Italy where has died for a serious illness. Gurban Said was buried near to Naples, in a place of Pozitano.

The author of article addresses to the problem of the literary translation on the example of the analysis of great German poet Heinrich Heine’s translations into Azerbaijani. First of all, it is investigated the translation heritage of the prominent Azerbaijani translator M. Rzaguluzade, which has for the first time acquainted the Azerbaijani reader with Heine. Then H. Arzulu, A. Shirvanli and Y. Savalan’s works are exposed to the analyses.
