Ülkər Talıbzadə sənətşünaslıq üzrə fəlsəfə doktoru elmi dərəcəsinə və dosent elmi adına malikdir, Azərbaycan Milli Elmlər Akademiyasının Memarlıq və İncəsənət İnstitutunun Musıqı tarixı və nəzəriyyəsi şöbəsində aparıcı elmi işçi vəzifəsində çalışır. Elmi fəaliyyəti əsasən Azərbaycan musiqişünaslığı, xüsusilə Zemfira Səfərova, Üzeyir Hacıbəyli və digər görkəmli şəxsiyyətlərin irsinin tədqiqi, eləcə də Azərbaycan musiqisinin tarixi və nəzəriyyəsi, folklor və müasir bəstəkar yaradıcılığı üzərində cəmləşir. Elmmetrik göstəricilərə görə, o, Google Scholar-də 52 nəşr qeyd olunsa da, sitat göstəriciləri (h-index: 0, n_citations: 0) beynəlxalq elmi ictimada məhdud sitat təsirini əks etdirir; Azərbaycan Milli Elmlər Akademiyasının DərgiPark sistemində isə 5 nəşri qeydiyyata alınıb, bu da elmi nəşrlərin əsasən yerli platformalarda görünürlüyünü göstərir. Nəşr dinamikası geniş miqyasda, 1989-cu ildən 2025-ci ilə qədər davamlı nəşr fəaliyyətini nümayiş etdirir, lakin nisbətən aşağı sitat göstəriciləri elmi təsirin regional səviyyədə qalması və beynəlxalq əlaqələrin məhdudiyyəti ilə əlaqələndirilə bilər. Elmi işləri Azərbaycan musiqisinin tarixi və mədəni irsinin tədqiqinə səciyyəvi töhfə verir, ancaq daha geniş beynəlxalq əhatəyə çıxmaq üçün potensial mövcuddur.

The subject of Karabakh has always been …
The subject of Karabakh has always been glorified and has found its bright expression in Azerbaijani art and music. Folk songs praising the beauty of Karabakh nature and history have adorned the repertoire of our famous khanende, and our composers have created works of various genres dedicated to this beautiful historical part of Azerbaijan. Over the past 30 years, works dedicated to the Karabakh war calling for defense of the Motherland and glorifying it, have been centerpiece of our composer’s artistic creation. In their works, they call attention to the bloody events in the country’s history through music composed in various genres. Today, the people of Azerbaijan are the winners of the Karabakh war. Every Azerbaijani reflects this glorious victory, this immense joy and pride in their professional activity. Azerbaijan’s musical figures did not welcome the historic victory empty-handed. Our composers have already turned to the new vital theme–the theme of great historical victory. The article provides an analysis of a number of works by Azerbaijani composers, such as Haji Khanmamedov, Vasif Adygezalov, Azer Dadashev, Firangiz Alizade, Elnara Dadashova and others.

The article examines National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s deep thoughts about musical culture of Azerbaijan, prominent cultural figures and the great state projects he implemented. There was no boundary between different spheres of public life for an outstanding political leader with brilliant innate talent. He addressed every issue he touched upon as a skilled expert, and proved that he had high erudition, deep knowledge and rich life experience in that field. H. Aliyev attached special importance to the problem of the personality’s role in history, appreciated various musical figures and expressed valuable opinions. History and modernity, traditions and historical development are presented as complementary and interconnected categories in the theoretical concept formed in the Great leader’s rich ideas about music, various speeches and reports.

The article explores academic works of renowned musicologist and academician Zemfira Safarova in the context of Azerbaijani musicology. One can distinguish the following key directions in Safarova’s work: exploring the legacy of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, source study, and history and theory of music. In her books and articles published in Azerbaijan and a number of other countries, Z. Safarova looks at musical and academic legacy of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, thus significantly enriching the study of his work. Her explorations of the history of Azerbaijani musicology laid the foundation of the source study in the national musical science. In her fundamental monograph “Musical science of Azerbaijan (XIII-XX centuries)” the author for the first time in Azerbaijan examines the evolution of the national musical science from the XIII century to the present (XX century). Based on musical and theoretical generalizations obtained through the analysis of unique sources, Z. Safarova created history of a whole period in Azerbaijani musicology, which in its turn is an integral part of the history of music, musical, aesthetical and philosophic thought of the Middle East.

The article is dedicated to composer’s attitude to opera genre. The opera “Vatan”(Native land), which was written by the composer in co-author with J. Hajiyev was the irst experience and opera (the opera was staged in 1945) in this genre incarnating the actual subject of the Great Patriotic war in the former Soviet Union. G. Garayev didn’t appeal to this genre for a long time though his idea of writing operas was numerous. In composer’s opinions already in the 50-es there was an idea on the revision opera-aesthetic criteria. The laborious searches resulted with the monoopera “İncəlik”(Delicacy) according to Henri Barbusse which was a model of reined mastery of vocalintonation development.

Every independent state has symbols that embody its existence, sovereignty and national identity. State symbols–the flag, the national emblem and the anthem are of special importance among these symbols. They are not just formal attributes, but also a living manifestation of the historical memory, values and hopes of the people for the future. State symbols, including the National Anthem, play an important role in the formation of national ideology. The article deals with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the context of historical inheritance. The article considers important aspects such as the historical context of the anthem, its functions and its significance for society and culture. The semantic content of the music and lyrics of the National Anthem, music of which belongs to the genius Uzeyir Hajibeyli and lyrics to the poet of independence Ahmad Javad, as well as the peculiarities of the musical language and music-lyrics relationships are analyzed here. The analysis concludes that the melody of the anthem, which is a living embodiment of the history, values and wishes of the nation, is a generalized musical expression of the image range and general mood of its lyrics.

В статье рассматривается научная деятельность видного музыковеда Азербайджана З.Сафаровой, заложившей основы отечественной медиевистики. Ею впервые исследованы трактаты средневековых мыслителей: С.Урмави, Ф.Ширвани, A.Марагаи, ученого ХIХ века М.М.Навваба. Результатом многолетних исследований в области источниковедения явился фундаментальный труд «Музыкальная наука Азербайджана (ХIII-ХХвв)». В монографии дана история развития музыкальной науки Азербайджана, определены основные этапы развития, проанализированы и обобщены поставленные в трактатах теоретические, эстетические проблемы.

The article explores academic works of renowned musicologist and academician Zemfira Safarova in the context of Azerbaijani musicology. One can distinguish the following key directions in Safarova’s work: exploring the legacy of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, source study, and history and theory of music. In her books and articles published in Azerbaijan and a number of other countries, Z. Safarova looks at musical and academic legacy of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, thus significantly enriching the study of his work. Her explorations of the history of Azerbaijani musicology laid the foundation of the source study in the national musical science. In her fundamental monograph “Musical science of Azerbaijan (XIII-XX centuries)” the author for the first time in Azerbaijan examines the evolution of the national musical science from the XIII century to the present (XX century). Based on musical and theoretical generalizations obtained through the analysis of unique sources, Z. Safarova created history of a whole period in Azerbaijani musicology, which in its turn is an integral part of the history of music, musical, aesthetical and philosophic thought of the Middle East.

The article is dedicated to composer’s attitude to opera genre. The opera “Vatan”(Native land), which was written by the composer in co-author with J. Hajiyev was the irst experience and opera (the opera was staged in 1945) in this genre incarnating the actual subject of the Great Patriotic war in the former Soviet Union. G. Garayev didn’t appeal to this genre for a long time though his idea of writing operas was numerous. In composer’s opinions already in the 50-es there was an idea on the revision opera-aesthetic criteria. The laborious searches resulted with the monoopera “İncəlik”(Delicacy) according to Henri Barbusse which was a model of reined mastery of vocalintonation development.

Every independent state has symbols that embody its existence, sovereignty and national identity. State symbols–the flag, the national emblem and the anthem are of special importance among these symbols. They are not just formal attributes, but also a living manifestation of the historical memory, values and hopes of the people for the future. State symbols, including the National Anthem, play an important role in the formation of national ideology. The article deals with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the context of historical inheritance. The article considers important aspects such as the historical context of the anthem, its functions and its significance for society and culture. The semantic content of the music and lyrics of the National Anthem, music of which belongs to the genius Uzeyir Hajibeyli and lyrics to the poet of independence Ahmad Javad, as well as the peculiarities of the musical language and music-lyrics relationships are analyzed here. The analysis concludes that the melody of the anthem, which is a living embodiment of the history, values and wishes of the nation, is a generalized musical expression of the image range and general mood of its lyrics.

AZERBAYCAN ÇOCUK ŞARKI FOLKLORU Doç. Dr. Ülker TALİBZADE Özet Makale Azerbaycan çocuk şarkı folklorunun tetkikine ithaf edilmiştir. Araştırma sırasında tespit edilmiştir ki, çocuk şarkı folkloru kendisinde büyüklerin çocuklar için eserleri ve çocukların kendi yaradıcılıqlarını birleştiriyor. Bunların karşılıklı ilişkisi makalede biçim, tarz, konu, metin ve müzik materyali açısından açılıyor. Aynı zamanda çocuk foklor şarkılarının tür sınıflandırması sunulmuş, analiz edilmiş şarkılar 4 tür grubuna ait edilmiştir. Çocuk şarkı folklorunun araştırmaları temelinde elde edilen sonuçlar folklorun bu alanının halk yaratıcılıkının bağımsız kolu olduğunu düşünmeye mümkün kılıyor. Anahtar kelimeler: Azerbaycan, folklor, çocuk şarkıları, janr, halk yaratıcılığı. AZERBAIJANI FOLK SONGS FOR CHILDREN Abstract The article explores Azerbaijani folk songs for children. Research shows that children’s folk music combines in itself both music made for children by adults and songs created by children themselves. The article exposes their interconnection through form, genre, theme, lyrics and music. Furthermore, it looks at genre classification of children’s folk songs, identifying four types of genre for songs analyzed in the article. The outcomes generated by the research of children’s folk songs allow the reader to conclude that this type of folk music constitutes an independent part of Azerbaijani folklore.
