Lalə Ələkbərova, Azərbaycan Milli Elmlər Akademiyasının Nizami Gəncəvi adına Ədəbiyyat İnstitutunun Orta əsrlər Azərbaycan ədəbiyyatı şöbəsində elmi işçi vəzifəsində fəaliyyət göstərir. Elmi dərəcə və elmi adı yoxdur. Onun elmi fəaliyyəti əsasən Azərbaycan ədəbiyyatının orta əsrlər dövrünə, xüsusilə qəzəl janrının inkişafına, Füzuli, Nizami və Səməd Vurğun kimi şairlərin irsinə, habelə XX əsr ədəbi prosesində klassik ənənələrin davamına həsr edilmişdir. Elmi nəşrlərin sayına görə, Google Scholar-də 10, AMEA DərgiPark-da isə 3 əsər qeydə alınmışdır. Bununla belə, elmmetrik göstəricilərə (n_citations: 0, h_index: 0, i10_index: 0) əsasən, elmi nəşrlərin beynəlxalq səviyyədə sitat təsiri hələ formalaşmamışdır. Nəşrlərin əsasən yerli dövri nəşrlərdə çap olunması və araşdırmaların Azərbaycan ədəbiyyatı kontekstində cəmlənməsi beynəlxalq görünürlüyün məhdud olmasına səbəb ola bilər. 2020-2024-cü illər arasında ardıcıl nəşr dinamikası müşahidə edilir ki, bu da davamlı elmi fəaliyyəti əks etdirir.

The article traces the development of the ghazal genre in Azerbaijani literature. Azerbaijani literature, which is a part of Middle Eastern literature, is related to the legacy of Nesimi and Lutfi, who developed this genre through Persian literature via Arabic literature. The peak of the gazelle in Azerbaijani literature is related to the work of Fuzuli. Fuzuli established a literary school and gave a new breath to the ghazal. The article examines the stages that the gazelle went through until the 20th century Azerbaijani literature.

Samad Vurgun, one of the leading poets of Azerbaijani literature, is one of the poets who benefited from classical traditions in the 20th century and kept these traditions alive in his works. Thus, the poet created a new love story based on the love of Leyli and Majnun, the most famous love story of the East. The article describes the transformation of Leyli, the most famous beloved character of Nizami and Fuzuli's works, into a free, independent lady in the 20th century. If we take into account the difference in life between the 12th, 16th and 20th centuries, the differences between the images of Leyla are clearly visible. Thus, the fact that Leyla, a free woman and a beloved woman who is the pride of her people, can now fly above the clouds is a symbol of her strength. In the research, it was pointed out that the literary structure of istifham is used in Samad Vurgun's poetry. The poem “Leyla” is a clear example of classical traditions living in a new format in Samad Vurgun's work.

The 20th century is a century full of revolutions and innovations. Especially the 20s-50s has been a specially historical period in terms of its characteristic aspects and its pressures on literature. In this period, although classical literature remained in the background, symbols, hints, binary approaches, etc. appeared in the works of individual poets. In the 20th century, the continuation of the classical tradition also indicates itself in the form of nazire, takhmis and tazmin. Tazmin is evaluated as a kind of nazire in classical literature.

Local concerns and gaps in English language teaching. The continuing development of communicative methods in foreign language teaching and learning depends on the willingness of government officials and teacher educators in Azerbaijan to adapt and to promote and provide accessible, up-to-date training and materials for new and experienced teachers as well as learning materials and course syllabi for language learners. In order to address the above-mentioned concerns, the Azerbaijan‘s Ministry of Education and Science and British Council-Baku foreign language teacher educators (teacher trainers) have succeeded in implementing changes in their recommended language teaching methodology and language proficiency level at a governmental level. However, Azerbaijani students do not need to acquire only communicative skills in language; they also need to develop English language skills for pursuing their academic studies in higher education institutions. One of these institutions is the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. The AUL is the leading university in the country for training future English language teachers and it plays an important role in supplying the workplaces (schools, language courses, private organisations) with specialists–English language teachers. With the knowledge and skills that students acquire during their four years of bachelor studies, they develop a set of tools that can take them to a number of workplaces.
